Description
A vintage “BLACK MAGIC” magazine comic book, identified as “OCTOBER No. 17” and priced at “10¢,” published by the “PRIZE GROUP” in 1952. The front cover features a vibrant horror-themed illustration depicting a gaunt, monstrous yellow figure, a frightened woman, and an older man within a dilapidated room. The cover is accompanied by the tagline “TRUE AMAZING ACCOUNTS OF THE STRANGEST STORIES EVER TOLD!” and dialogue such as “ALL RIGHT — TAKE A LOOK, GIRL! SATISFY YOUR MORBID CURIOSITY! LOOK — THIS IS THE CURSE — THE FAMILY FREAK!” The back cover displays multiple period advertisements, including one for “GIVEN! BOYS! GIRLS! LADIES! MEN! WE GIVE YOU CASH OR PREMIUMS!”
Condition report:
Fair to good condition for its age. Visible wear includes creasing, dog-eared corners, a small tear to the top right of the front cover, spine roll and creasing, and general surface toning and dirt.
