Description
A group of 7 vintage DC Comics, featuring ‘The Brave and the Bold #85’ which marks the first appearance of Green Arrow’s new costume by Neal Adams. The lot includes issues #80, #81, #84, #85, #88, #89, #90, and #91 of ‘The Brave and the Bold’ series. These issues date from 1968 to 1970, and originally retailed for 12c or 15c. The comics predominantly feature Batman alongside other iconic characters such as Wonder Woman, Flash, Doom Patrol, Adam Strange, Black Canary, Aquaman, and Sgt. Rock. The comics showcase vibrant, illustrative covers typical of the Silver and early Bronze Age of comics, with visible titles including “The Widow-Maker!”, “You Only Die Twice!”, and “Welcome to Fun City!”. The reverse side of the lot features a collection of full-page comic book advertisements from the same period, promoting products such as Aurora Model Motoring slot car sets, Hot Wheels cars, and various mail-order items like “American Seeds” and “Hot Birds” flying models. All comics are printed on paper. A small green sticky note with “407” handwritten in black is visible on both sides of the lot.
Condition report:
The comics exhibit signs of age and use consistent with their vintage. Visible wear includes spine stress and tears, corner creasing, and edge tears. Some discoloration and minor soiling are present throughout. Overall condition appears to range from fair to good.
