Description
A corner of the back cover is reattached by tape. MAD Magazine, Issue No. 5, published by EC Comics, dated January-February. This vintage American comic book, originally priced at 10 cents, features a distinctive horror-comedy illustration on its front cover. The prominent yellow ‘MAD’ title is accompanied by ‘TALES CALCULATED TO DRIVE YOU MAD’ and ‘HUMOR IN A JUGULAR VEIN’ along the left edge. The artwork depicts a man in conversation with a small, winged demon in a cemetery setting, complete with gravestones marked ‘R.I.P.’ The back cover presents a multi-panel advertisement for ‘AMERICAN SEED CO., INC.,’ detailing how to ‘GET PRIZES Make Money’ by selling seeds, a common marketing strategy of the period. Constructed from printed paper, the comic appears complete and generally intact. An external white label with the number ‘428’ is visible below the item in the photographs.

Good vintage condition. Exhibits age-appropriate wear including minor creasing, corner rounding, and spine stress. The comic appears complete and generally intact.
