Description
A group of five vintage American pulp magazines, comprising one issue of “Fantastic Story Magazine” (June 1952) and four issues of “Fantastic Adventures” (February, March, May, and June 1952). Printed on acidic pulp paper, these magazines feature vibrant, dramatic science fiction and fantasy cover art. The covers depict various creatures, human figures, and action scenes, with visible story titles including “THE WOMAN IN SKIN 13” and “THE SOUL SNATCHERS”. The back covers predominantly display period advertisements, notably for “The Rosicrucians (AMORC)” promoting “The Secret of Mental Creating” under the heading “In Your Mind’s Eye”, alongside other offers such as “7 MYSTERY HITS YOURS for only $1.00”. An internal identifier, a yellow sticky note marked “49”, is present.
Condition report:
The magazines exhibit significant age and material wear consistent with their early 1950s publication. Condition includes extensive yellowing and toning to the acidic pulp paper, edge wear, minor tears, and general brittleness throughout. Some covers may show creasing or minor chipping.
