Description

A pair of vintage Marvel Comics Group X-Men comic books from the original 1963 series. Issue #57, cover-dated June at 12c, features the X-Men in conflict with large robotic figures identified as “THE SENTINELS,” with “LIVE!” text. This issue is noted for Neal Adams cover and interior art, and the first appearance of Larry Trask. Its back cover advertises a “Finish High School at home” program. Issue #59, cover-dated September at 15c, depicts Cyclops firing optic blasts at purple-clad figures, with text reading “THE LAST X-MAN.” The reverse of issue #59 features an advertisement for selling Christmas cards, including a “BUSINESS REPLY MAIL” section. Both comics are made of paper and exhibit a typical late 1960s/early 1970s comic book art style.
