A pair of ‘Amazing Stories’ pulp magazines from 1945. The November issue, priced at 25¢, features “Prometheus Daughter” by Alexander Blade, with a vivid science fiction cover depicting a woman in chains with a rocket in space. The December issue, also priced at 25¢, includes “Moon of Battle” by J. J. Allerton and “The Mystery of Element 117,” with cover art showing a woman on an alien planet with a giant hand. Both magazines are constructed of thin paper. Their reverse sides contain period advertisements, one for an electric sprayer and another for “Mammoth Western” magazine, promoting “ROMANCE! ADVENTURE! ACTION!”. Also included in the lot is a small open activity book with line drawings labeled “Car turntable” and “Britt Reid’s crime lab,” alongside a partially visible “RADIO AND TV MIRROR” magazine, dated December and priced at 25¢.
Condition report:
Both \'Amazing Stories\' magazines exhibit significant wear consistent with their age and material, including creasing, extensive edge tearing, spine damage, dog-earing, and yellowing of pages. The December issue shows more pronounced cover loss at the upper right corner. The activity book and \'RADIO AND TV MIRROR\' magazine also show similar aged wear.
