Description
A set of three vintage American romance comic books, dating to the mid-1950s. The set includes “Personal LOVE” explicitly dated “NOV.-DEC. 1957” and published by Prize Comics, “Diary Loves” (June No. 22), and “first KISS,” a Charlton Publication. All comics display a 10-cent cover price and the “APPROVED BY THE COMICS CODE AUTHORITY” seal. They feature vibrant, melodramatic mid-century comic book illustrations on their covers, depicting couples in romantic or emotional scenes. The back covers present period advertisements for items such as gladiolus bulbs and premium gifts, with one featuring Yogi Berra. Constructed of paper. A handwritten label marked “539” is visible beneath the items.
Condition report:
Fair-to-good vintage condition, exhibiting visible signs of age, wear, creasing along edges and spines, and some discoloration, but remaining largely intact.
