Description
An American pulp science fiction magazine, “PLANET STORIES,” identified as the Spring Issue, 1940, Volume 1, No. 2, with an original price of 20 cents. The front cover features vibrant, classic Golden Age sci-fi artwork depicting a female warrior, astronauts, and alien creatures. Prominent story titles include “GODDESS OF THE MOON” and “THE GIRL FROM INFINITE SMALLNESS,” with authors such as John Murray Reynolds and Ray Cummings. A handwritten “40 SHM” is visible on the upper left corner of the front cover. The back cover displays a full-page color advertisement for Chesterfield Cigarettes, featuring a woman holding a cigarette pack and the slogan “A pack o’ pleasure,” copyrighted 1937 by Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co.
