Description
A collection of approximately ten to twelve vintage American comic books, primarily from the mid-20th century. The collection includes issues from the “Archie Series, ” featuring titles such as “Pat the Brat” (No. 24, Jan.), “Archie’s Pal Jughead” (No. 84, May), “PEP” (No. 142, Oct.), “Betty and Veronica, ” and “Mickey Mouse The Case of the Missing Steers.” Other partially visible titles include “Man From…” and “The Captain and the Kids.” These comics are identifiable by their 10c-12c cover prices and visible Comics Code Authority seals, indicative of their era. Printed on paper, they feature an illustrative style typical of the period, depicting characters such as Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica, Mickey Mouse, and Pat the Brat. Dialogue such as “ARCHIE AND JUGHEAD DO WONDERFUL BIRD IMITATIONS, DADDY! WHAT BIRD WOULD YOU LIKE THEM TO IMITATE? A HOMING PIGEON!” (on PEP) and “HEY, MOM! IF THAT’S MR. TAYLOR… I’M NOT HOME!” (on Pat the Brat) is visible. A partial imprint for “DELL COMICS ARE” is visible on one interior page.
Condition report:
The overall apparent condition is mixed, ranging from fair to good-minus. The comics exhibit significant paper toning and discoloration, especially along the edges and interiors. Further wear includes creasing, edge wear, minor tears, and some spine roll.
