This collection features four vintage mid-century bowling trophies and one hand-painted novelty souvenir primarily awarded to P. Diehl Jr. for participation in the GLATCO League, York Division. The set includes a 1963 High Average trophy featuring a gold-tone male bowler on a white fluted pedestal and wooden base accented with twin eagles. A 1957-58 Runner-Up trophy for Storelec features a gold-tone figure on a tiered black Bakelite-style composite base. The collection also contains a silver-tone male bowler on a tall rectangular pedestal and a smaller gold-tone figure on a cream-colored plastic base. Completing the lot is a hand-painted novelty souvenir dated 59-60 depicting bowling pins and a ball, inscribed GLFTCO. These items represent classic Art Deco-influenced sports memorabilia from the late 1950s and early 1960s. Tallest trophy approximately 14 inches height, smallest novelty approximately 2 inches height.
Condition report:
The items are in good vintage condition with wear consistent with age. Metalwork shows typical loss of luster with some pitting and tarnish to the metallic figures. The silver-toned plaque on the central trophy is heavily oxidized and the text is mostly illegible. Bases show minor scuffing, dust, and light surface scratches.
