BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, and Jimmie Foxx Multi-Signed 1939 All-America Team Baseball, JSA LOA
This exceptional multi-signed baseball features a premier assembly of 16 signatures, headlined by the legendary Babe Ruth and Ted Williams. The ball is a Milton Bradley Co. Official League model (PAT’D RE: 17200) featuring vintage notations for the 1939 All-America Team. According to the accompanying James Spence Authentication (JSA) Letter of Authenticity, the genuine signatures include Hall of Famers Babe Ruth (positioned on the sweet spot), Ted Williams, Jimmie Foxx, Joe Cronin, Joe Gordon, Lefty Grove, and Bill Dickey, along with Bucky Walters, Bump Hadley, and Red Rolfe. The ball also contains vintage clubhouse signatures of Joe DiMaggio, Dom DiMaggio, and Joe Medwick, which was a common practice for the era. An additional signature from Joe O’Connell and the descriptive 1939 All-America Team Winner inscription are noted as being in an unknown hand. This piece represents a rare intersection of baseball history, capturing the twilight of Ruth’s public life and the rookie era of Ted Williams. The item is presented in a clear acrylic protective display case with a tiered wooden base. Authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA) with Letter of Authenticity number ZZ73044.
Condition report:
The baseball exhibits a consistent and attractive cream-to-tan patina across all panels. The signatures, executed in black steel-tip fountain pen, remain largely legible with varying degrees of boldness; the Babe Ruth and Ted Williams signatures are particularly well-defined. The red stitching is tight and intact. Minor surface scuffing and natural toning are present, consistent with a vintage professional-style baseball of this age.
