Scholten (American, 20th/21st Century). A vibrant watercolor on paper depicting a tranquil rural scene. The composition features a prominent turquoise-colored barn nestled behind a wooden post-and-rail fence, framed by lush green trees and a winding dirt path. The work is executed in an impressionistic style with loose, expressive brushwork and transparent color washes on wove paper. Signed Scholten in the lower right corner. Presented under glass with a double mat, consisting of a wide white outer mat and a thin olive-toned inner mat, housed in a reddish-brown wooden frame with gilded, rubbed highlights.
