This collection consists of approximately 27 vintage Bronze Age war-themed comic books from major publishers DC Comics, Marvel Comics, and Charlton Comics. The issues date from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. The DC Comics selection includes Sgt. Rock (and Our Army at War) issues 365, 368 (30th Anniversary), 370, and 375, as well as the DC 100 Page Super Spectacular issue DC-16. Other DC titles present are G.I. Combat issue 244 featuring The Haunted Tank and The Unknown Soldier issue 252. The Marvel Comics portion includes Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos King-Size Special 7, Special Marvel Edition 14, and issue 159. Charlton Comics titles include Fightin’ Army issues 131, 139, 158, and 164; Battlefield Action issues 75 and 81; and World at War issue 11. Several covers in the collection, particularly the Sgt. Rock issues, feature the artwork and signature of artist Joe Kubert. The comics are raw and ungraded, with several issues stored in protective plastic sleeves.
Condition report:
The collection is in raw, ungraded condition, generally ranging from Very Good (VG) to Very Fine (VF). Typical signs of age-appropriate wear include minor spine stress lines with color breaks, slight blunting of corners, minor edge wear, and surface rubbing. Fightin\' Army issue 131 has a visible small tear on the lower front cover.
