This lot consists of 11 comic books from DC Comics and Archie Comic Publications, primarily representing the Bronze Age, Copper Age, and modern era. The collection includes a complete four-issue run of Archie Adventure Series: The Original Shield (issues 1 through 4, 1984) published under the Red Circle imprint. These issues feature cover art by Frank Thorne for the first two issues and Dick Ayers with Chic Stone for issues 3 and 4. DC Comics titles from the Bronze Age include All-Star Comics issues 60 and 61 (1976), featuring the Justice Society of America with the Super Squad and an early appearance of Power Girl in issue 60. The collection also includes Metal Men issues 45 and 48 (1976), featuring the first appearance of Plutonium Man and the return of Eclipso, respectively. Additional titles include Son of Tomahawk issue 139 (1972) with cover art by Joe Kubert, and The Phantom Stranger issue 38 (1975) with a backup story featuring Black Orchid. Representing the modern era is Superman: Son of Kal-El issue 12 (2022). All issues are raw, unslabbed, and presented in protective bags with boards.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally mid-to-high grade condition. Covers maintain vibrant colors and original gloss. Spines appear tight with minimal stress lines on the vintage Bronze Age and Copper Age issues. Corners on the modern era issue are sharp, while the older issues show minor blunting at the corners and edges consistent with age and careful storage. There is no evidence of staple detachment or major creasing visible through the bags. One modern issue features a retail price sticker on the exterior of the protective bag.
