This collection consists of eight original Bronze Age comic books published by DC Comics between 1974 and 1978. The series was titled Superboy starring the Legion of Super-Heroes and later Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes. The lot includes the following specific issues: No. 204 (Oct. 1974), which features the origin of the name Wildfire; No. 207 (Mar. 1975); No. 210 (Aug. 1975), featuring the origin of Karate Kid; No. 221 (Nov. 1976), featuring Charma; No. 225 (Mar. 1977); No. 226 (Apr. 1977), a key issue featuring the first full appearance of Dawnstar; No. 231 (Sept. 1977), a giant-sized issue featuring the Fatal Five; and No. 241 (July 1978), a giant-sized issue featuring the first appearance of Grimbor the Chainsman. Cover artists include Mike Grell for most issues, with No. 241 signed by Jim Sherman and Joe Rubinstein. The comics are presented in individual protective bags with backing boards.
Condition report:
The collection contains raw, un-slabbed copies in mid-to-high grade, generally ranging from Very Fine (VF) to Near Mint- (NM-). Spines are mostly tight, though minor color-breaking stress lines are visible on issues No. 221 and No. 241. Minor blunting is present at some corners. Covers remain vibrant with no major fading observed. Pricing notations and stickers are present on the exterior of several protective bags (including issues No. 225, 226, and 241), but appear confined to the plastic housing. All covers are firmly attached.
