This lot consists of two vintage comic books published by Marvel Comics Group under the Strange Tales title, both featuring Adam Warlock. Issue #179, cover dated April 1975, is a key issue featuring the first appearance of Pip the Troll. The front cover art is signed by Jim Starlin. Issue #181, cover dated August 1975, features early appearances of Gamora and Pip the Troll as part of the Magus Saga. The cover art for this issue is signed by Jim Starlin and Alan Weiss. Both publications bear a 25-cent original cover price and the Comics Code Authority seal. The comics are raw, ungraded copies and are housed in protective plastic sleeves with backing boards.
Condition report:
The comic books are in raw, ungraded condition. Issue #179 shows visible spine stress lines with color-breaking creases, light surface wear, and edge wear. Issue #181 exhibits minor spine ticks, light edge wear, and a small nick on the right-hand edge of the front cover. Both items appear to have intact covers with no evidence of detachment.
