A group of four vintage bronze age comic books published by the Marvel Comics Group under the title Marvel Spectacular starring The Mighty Thor. This series features reprints of classic silver age Thor stories originally published in Journey into Mystery and The Mighty Thor. The lot consists of issue number 9 (September), issue number 11 (November), issue number 15 (June), and issue number 19 (November). The cover illustrations feature the work of artist Jack Kirby with inks provided by Joe Sinnott, Vince Colletta, and Bill Everett. Specific stories represented include The Demons Below!, The Growing Man, This Battleground Earth!, and When Strikes the Wrecker!. Each issue features a 25 cent cover price and remains in raw, unslabbed condition.
Condition report:
The collection is in mid-grade condition. Visible defects include multiple color-breaking spine stress marks (spine ticks) on all issues and minor rounding at the corners with shelf wear along the edges. Issue number 11 shows tanning and light soiling on the white areas of the cover. Minor surface scuffing and color rubbing are present on the dark backgrounds of issues number 9 and 19. Covers appear to be attached with standard wear visible around the staples. No significant tears or detachments are observed.
