BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Seven Vintage Flash Gordon Comic Books, Gold Key and Whitman Publishers

This lot consists of a collection of seven vintage Flash Gordon comic books published in the late 1970s and early 1980s by Gold Key and Whitman, both imprints of Western Publishing. These Bronze Age science fiction adventure comics feature characters created by Alex Raymond and are characterized by their painted cover art, with most attributed to artist George Wilson. The group includes both standard Gold Key issues and Whitman multi-pack or department store distribution variants. The specific issues included are Whitman number 30 (90148-107, January 1980) with a 50 cent cover price; Whitman number 28 (90148-003, September 1979) with a 40 cent cover price; Gold Key number 26 (90148-809, September 1978) with a 35 cent cover price; Gold Key number 25 (March 1978) with a 35 cent cover price; Whitman number 29 (November 1979) with a 40 cent cover price; Whitman number 27 (June 1979) with a 35 cent cover price; and Gold Key number 28 (90148-811, November 1978) with a 35 cent cover price. Marks present include the Whitman W logo in a stylized box on four issues and the Gold Key logo, featuring a key symbol between the words Gold and Key, on three issues. Various publisher identifiers and price marks are visible in the trade dress of each cover.

Condition report:

The collection is in raw, unslabbed condition, generally ranging from Fine (FN) to Very Fine (VF). Most issues exhibit minor spine stress marks and small color-breaking ticks. The covers retain vibrant colors with some light surface wear and softening at the edges. No complete cover detachments are noted. A prominent horizontal crease is present across the lower-center of Whitman issue number 29.
