This comic book is issue number 37 of Warlord of Mars, published by Dynamite Entertainment circa 2014. It is a Virgin Variant edition, an incentive release that features full-bleed cover artwork by Lucio Parrillo without the standard trade dress, title logos, or issue numbering. The cover illustration depicts the characters Dejah Thoris and John Carter in a stylized composition that serves as an homage to Frank Frazetta’s classic Red Planet painting. Dejah Thoris is shown in the foreground wearing iconic gold jewelry while leaning against a tree, with a large-scale rendering of John Carter’s face in the background amidst a Martian landscape. Condition report:
The comic is in raw, uncertified condition and is stored in a protective plastic sleeve with a backing board. Based on visual inspection through the sleeve, the item appears to be in Excellent to Near Mint condition. No major spine stress marks, color breaks, or corner blunting are visible. A clean white vertical margin is present along the left spine edge, which is a characteristic production feature of certain Dynamite incentive variants. Note that the vertical white line visible down the center of the image is a photographic glare on the plastic sleeve and is not a physical defect on the comic itself.
