This lot comprises several vintage children’s periodicals from the 1960s, each individually housed in a clear protective plastic sleeve. Included are two issues of Wee Wisdom: A Magazine for Boys and Girls, published by the Unity School of Christianity. The first is the August 1961 issue, featuring cover art by Dorothy Wagstaff depicting children at a birthday party, priced at 20 cents. The second is the September 1961 issue, with cover art featuring children playing with autumn leaves, also priced at 20 cents. Also included are two issues of Treasure Chest of Fun and Fact, a Catholic educational comic book series published by Geo. A. Pflaum, Publisher, Inc. The first is Volume 23, Number 12, dated February 8, 1968, featuring a western-themed cover illustrated by Lloyd Ostendorf and priced at 10 cents. The second is Volume 23, Number 15, dated March 21, 1968, featuring an aviation-themed cover illustrated by Chikes for the story Height of Bravery, priced at 10 cents. Both Treasure Chest issues bear a handwritten ink notation reading Rm. 21 at the top of the front covers.
Condition report:
All items exhibit signs of age-related wear. The Wee Wisdom issues show paper tanning, edge wear, and shelf wear, with the September 1961 issue specifically displaying visible foxing and staining on the left side of the front cover. The Treasure Chest comic books show general paper tanning and minor edge wear. Both Treasure Chest covers have handwritten ink notations. None of the items have been professionally graded.
