This collection consists of eight comic books from the 1994 Marvel Comics limited series Marvels. Written by Kurt Busiek with fully painted artwork and covers by Alex Ross, the series provides a perspective on the history of the Marvel Universe through the eyes of photojournalist Phil Sheldon. Included in this lot are one copy of Marvels #1 (January 1994), one copy of Marvels #2 (February 1994), three copies of Marvels #3 (March 1994), two copies of Marvels #4 (April 1994), and one copy of Marvels Book 0 (1994). Issues #1 through #4 are the first printing editions characterized by their signature transparent acetate outer covers. The Marvels Book 0 issue features a distinctive red border on the front cover. Notable characters depicted on the covers include the original Human Torch, the Angel, Silver Surfer, Galactus, Spider-Man, Gwen Stacy, and the Green Goblin. Each comic is individually housed in a protective plastic bag with an acid-free backing board. Visible markings include the Marvels title logo in translucent block lettering, the Marvel Comics corner box logo, and issue designations such as Book One, Book Two, Book Three, Book Four, and Book 0.
