This lot contains nine comic books published by DC Comics and a sheet of Transformers temporary tattoos. The comics in the collection include Batman issue number 492 (May 1993), part one of the Knightfall storyline with cover art by Kelley Jones; Detective Comics issue number 659 (Early May 1993), part two of Knightfall with cover art by Norm Breyfogle; Superman issue number 78 [Legacy number 23] (July 1993), part 17 of Reign of the Supermen featuring the first appearance of the Cyborg Superman and cover art by Tom Grummett; Checkmate! issue number 1 (May 1989), part one of The Janus Directive crossover featuring cover art by Gil Kane; The Batman and Scooby-Doo Mysteries issue number 1 (June 2021) featuring the Joker with cover art by Dario Brizuela; Beware the Batman issue number 1 (December 2013) based on the animated television series; Batman: Dark Pattern issue number 1 (2023) with cover art by Hayden Sherman; Silverblade issue number 3 (November 1987) with cover art by Gene Colan; and Justice League of America (JLA) issue number 72 (Late November 2002) from The Obsidian Age story arc with cover art by Doug Mahnke. Also included is a sheet of 25 Transformers temporary tattoos featuring Autobot and Decepticon characters such as Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. The comics are constructed of staple-bound paper with printed color illustrations.
Condition report:
The items are uncertified. The comic books appear to be in Fine to Near Mint condition based on visual inspection. Several books are stored in individual protective polybags. Visible characteristics include flat covers, intact spines, and minimal wear. Some of the outer plastic bags have fluorescent green retail price stickers attached. No significant tears, stains, or creases are visible on the covers through the packaging. The tattoo sheet appears intact in its original plastic sleeve.
