An assortment of eleven issues of Heavy Metal: The Adult Illustrated Fantasy Magazine, a prominent American science fiction and fantasy periodical. The collection spans from the late 1970s to the late 1980s and includes the following issues: February 1979, two copies of the April 1979 Second Anniversary Issue, September 1984, November 1984, March 1985, December 1985, March 1989, two variant editions of May 1989, and July 1989. The magazines are softcover, staple-bound periodicals featuring full-color pictorial wrappers. Early issues include the Les Humanoides Associes logo, reflecting the publication’s origins with the French magazine Metal Hurlant. Cover illustrations feature fantasy and science fiction art, including work signed by Rowena and stories attributed to Moebius. Featured headlines on the wrappers include All-New Moebius Tale Inside, Fright Night’s director Tom Holland interview, and The Beautiful Women of the Hollow Planet Zara. Printed prices on the covers range from 1.50 to 3.95 dollars.

Condition report:

Overall very good condition. Most issues are contained within individual clear protective plastic sleeves. The magazines exhibit minor signs of age-appropriate wear such as light edge rubbing, slight spine creasing, and occasional blunted corners. One April 1979 issue features a printed barcode on the lower left cover, while the other does not. Interiors have not been inspected for completeness or internal markings.
