BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Independent Zines, Hobbyist Magazines, and Pop Culture Ephemera. Various Publishers, 1994-1997.

This lot comprises an assortment of independent press publications, underground zines, and niche interest magazines primarily dating from the mid-1990s. Notable underground and literary titles included are Oculus Magazine (Vol. V, Iss. 5), Shemp! (Vol. I, No. 18), Sub-Vision News Letter (No. 1, 1997), Frisson: disconcerting verse (No. 7, 1997), Hope by John Gross, and The Chance Review (Issue No. 4, Summer 1996). Hobbyist and specialty publications feature Modeler’s Resource (Issues 16, 17, and 19), Wine Trader (Vol. R, Nos. 2 and 4), Comic Spot (No. 151, Nov 1996), and Universal Truth Magazine (Vol. 6, No. 12, Sept 1996). Also included are various financial and technical newsletters such as Financial Cycles (Nos. 88 and 89, 1994), 800-Software News (Nov 1994), and The Walnut dvd publications (Issue 5). Pop culture ephemera features a Wizard magazine Star Wars fold-out poster (copyright 1996 Lucasfilm Ltd.) and a March 1997 comic-themed calendar page by Brian Douglas Ahern. The publications are predominantly staple-bound wrappers or loose-leaf sheets, generally in quarto and octavo formats.

Condition report:

The collection is in fair to good condition overall, showing typical signs of age and handling for ephemeral publications. Observable wear includes soft or folded corners, light edge wear, minor creasing, and occasional surface scuffing to the wrappers. Several items exhibit original mailing folds or creases from magazine insertion, notably the Wizard poster and calendar page. Some paper stocks show light toning consistent with the age and production methods of independent press materials.
