A collection of vintage softcover humor and specialty magazines featuring examples of underground-influenced and automotive-themed titles. The collection includes Mad magazine issue No. 100 (January 1966), featuring a minimalist cover design with the text Mad Proudly Presents Its 100th Issue and a small Alfred E. Neuman illustration. Also included is Flashback (Premier) Take 1, Collectors Edition (April 1972), with cover art by Jack Davis; Car Toons issue 7/26 (August 1967) published by Petersen Publishing Co.; and issues No. 1 and No. 2 of Comix Book, published in 1974 by Curtis Magazines. The Comix Book titles are notable for bridging mainstream publishing with underground creators, featuring cover art by Peter Poplaski and Skip Williamson respectively. Each item is a quarto-format, staple-bound softcover periodical.
