This sculptural plaque is a three-dimensional recreation of the original 1932 theatrical poster for the Universal Pictures film The Mummy. Produced by Code 3 Collectibles in 2005, the piece is constructed of hand-painted resin and features high-relief figures of Boris Karloff as Imhotep and Zita Johann as Helen Grosvenor. The central image is surrounded by a raised border designed to resemble ancient Egyptian stone blocks, decorated with various hieroglyphic-style symbols. The plaque includes the film’s tagline It comes to life! in raised white script and accurately reproduces the original poster’s billing and credits, including the names of Carl Laemmle, David Manners, Edward Van Sloan, and director Karl Freund. Condition report:
The item is in good overall condition. Minor surface wear and light scuffing are present on the reverse, primarily on the fold-out easel stand. The front shows some accumulation of dust in the recessed areas of the sculpture. No chips, cracks, or repairs are observed in the resin.
