This lot features a pair of vintage Spot-bilt Tuffmobiles multi-purpose athletic shoes, model SA52, produced by Hyde Athletic Industries, Inc. The shoes are constructed with white pigskin suede uppers and feature the signature three-dot perforated design on the side panels, a hallmark of the Hyde and Spot-bilt brands. The outsoles are comprised of molded rubber cleats designed for multi-sport use. These shoes carry the endorsement of NFL player O.J. Simpson, whose portrait and facsimile signature appear prominently on the packaging and included marketing materials. The items are housed in the original blue and white graphic box. Condition report:
The shoes are in New Old Stock (NOS) condition and appear unworn with the original factory hangtag still attached. The suede uppers show light, uniform age-related toning but remain flexible. The original box is structurally sound but displays moderate shelf wear, including edge rubbing, minor corner crushing, and the name REX handwritten in green ink on one side. The interior paper ephemera is present and shows minor yellowing consistent with age.
