This lot features an autographed tri-fold lunch menu from Joe Theismann’s Restaurant. The front cover of the menu is hand-signed in black felt-tip marker by former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann, including his jersey number inscription #7. The menu is presented in a maroon textured folder with gold-tone metal corner protectors. The front cover displays a red line-art illustration of football players and the Joe Theismann’s Restaurants logo. Inside, the menu includes sections for Starters, Salads, Lunch Entrees, Sandwiches, and Snack and Chat Favorites, alongside a printed history of the establishment noting its 1989 opening in Alexandria, Virginia. The reverse side contains lists for wine, beer, and other beverages. The design is attributed to Luis A. Caballero. Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. Condition report:
The item is in good vintage condition with minor surface wear on the exterior folder. There are some small spots and light staining visible on the interior paper menu panels. The signature is bold and legible.
