This is a limited-edition commemorative porcelain decanter featuring Muhammad Ali, titled Sportsman of the Century, produced by the McCormick Distilling Company as part of their Americana Porcelain collection. The hand-painted figure depicts Ali in a boxing stance, wearing white trunks with a red waistband and red boxing gloves. The figure is mounted on a rectangular base designed to resemble a boxing ring mat, with the words THE GREATEST embossed on the front edge. The head of the figure serves as a removable stopper with an attached cork. The underside of the base features a printed facsimile signature of Muhammad Ali. The item includes its original blue cardboard packaging, which provides biographical details and a record of Ali’s major bouts through September 1978. According to the packaging, the decanter was originally filled with grenadine. The lot includes the original two-piece styrofoam protective insert.

Condition report:
The porcelain body of the decanter is in overall good condition. There is visible surface staining on the head/stopper, particularly around the nose and mouth areas. The original cork remains attached but shows dark staining. The original cardboard box is in poor to fair condition, exhibiting significant wear, tearing, heavy creasing, and remnants of aged adhesive tape.
