This lot consists of twenty autographed photographs and one typed signed letter featuring prominent National Football League head coaches from the late 2000s and early 2010s. The primary highlights of the group include two signed items from Bill Belichick: a color photograph signed in purple ink and inscribed with Super Bowl championship titles 36, 38, and 39, and a typed letter on official New England Patriots stationery dated September 7, 2012, hand-signed in blue ink. A color profile photograph of John Madden is included, signed in silver ink. Other notable coaches represented include Tony Dungy and Bill Cowher, who provided two signed photographs, one of which features an NFL licensed product hologram sticker numbered 00090387674. The collection includes photographs of Tom Coughlin, John Harbaugh, Ron Rivera, Lovie Smith, John Fox, Dick Vermeil, Steve Spagnuolo (two distinct photos), Ken Whisenhunt, Jason Garrett, Gary Kubiak, Jim Caldwell, Mike Smith, Chan Gailey, and Jim Mora Jr. Most items are personalized to Zachary or Aimee and signatures are executed in various inks including black, blue, silver, purple, and gold. The photographs are primarily 8 by 10 inch color prints.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The collection is in good to very good overall condition. Signatures remain bold with no visible fading. Minor handling wear is present across the lot, specifically light corner softening and occasional surface marks consistent with through-the-mail fan requests. The items are currently unauthenticated.
