BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of 21 Vintage Topps and Bowman Football Cards 1952-1961 Including Bobby Layne
This collection consists of 21 vintage American football trading cards produced by the Bowman and Topps companies between 1952 and 1961. The group includes various iconic designs from the early post-war era of football collecting. The set features one 1952 Bowman Small card (Howard Hartley number 11). The 1954 Bowman series is represented by four cards featuring solid color backgrounds: Joe Campanella (number 73), Bobby Layne (number 22), Leon Hart (number 82), and Mike Jarmoluk (number 16). The 1955 Bowman series includes six cards with the horizontal TV set border design: James Finks (number 12), Ray Renfro (number 13), Les Richter (number 57), Bob St. Clair (number 74), Bill Lange (number 128), and Elbie Nickel (number 153). From the Topps brand, the collection includes two 1956 cards in horizontal format (John Martinkovic number 83 and Floyd Reid number 115), one 1957 card (Bob Gain number 70), and four 1958 cards featuring bright colored backgrounds (Cleveland Browns Team number 22, Bob Zatkoff number 34, Bill Forester number 39, and Mike McCormack number 74). The collection is completed by a 1960 Topps Bobby Joe Conrad (number 101) and two 1961 Topps cards (Sonny Randle number 88 and Jim Ringo number 151). Represented teams include the Detroit Lions, Baltimore Colts, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, and St. Louis Cardinals. All cards are presented in individual protective top-loaders or semi-rigid holders.
Condition report:
The cards are in raw, ungraded condition, with an overall range of Good to Excellent. Common signs of age-appropriate handling include minor corner rounding, light edge wear, and varying degrees of centering typical for vintage printing. The 1952 Bowman Howard Hartley shows moderate corner wear and is centered toward the bottom right. The 1954 Bowman Bobby Layne Hall of Fame card displays light corner wear and is centered slightly to the left. The 1955 Bowman cards exhibit typical edge chipping and corner softening common to the wood-grain border design. The 1961 Topps examples appear to have the sharpest corners and most consistent centering in the group. No major creases, heavy surface abrasions, or moisture damage are visible across the lot.
