A 2012 Topps Baseball Complete Set, factory-sealed in original shrink wrap. This set contains a total of 661 cards, encompassing both Series 1 and Series 2 of the 2012 Topps flagship product. A notable feature of this specific retail edition is the inclusion of an exclusive bonus 5-card pack of orange-bordered parallel cards. The set includes several significant rookie cards, most notably Bryce Harper (card number 661) and Yu Darvish (card number 660). The front and side panels of the box feature images of star players including Yu Darvish, Tim Lincecum, Matt Kemp, David Ortiz, Mariano Rivera, and Bryce Harper. Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Condition report:
The item is in its original factory-sealed shrink wrap. The outer cardboard box exhibits minor shelf wear consistent with long-term storage, including light surface scuffing and very minor blunting to the corners. The plastic wrap is intact with no observed tears, though it shows typical surface wrinkling and light dust accumulation.
