BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Five Rickey Henderson Oakland Athletics Baseball Cards Including 1981 Donruss and 1982-1983 Topps

This collection consists of five vintage baseball cards featuring Hall of Fame outfielder Rickey Henderson during his early career with the Oakland Athletics. The group includes two copies of the 1983 Topps Rickey Henderson card number 180, which features both a circular portrait and an action batting pose. One 1981 Donruss Rickey Henderson card number 119 from the First Edition Collector Series is included, showing Henderson in a yellow team jersey. The remaining two cards are 1982 Topps issues: an Athletics Team Checklist number 531 featuring Henderson and Rick Langford as batting and pitching leaders, and an Oakland A’s 1981 Batting and Pitching Leaders card number 156 featuring Henderson and Steve McCatty. These items are printed on standard cardboard stock. The 1983 Topps cards are housed in clear plastic top-loader protectors. Printed markings on the reverse of the cards include card numbers and copyright information for Topps Chewing Gum, Inc. (1982, 1983) and Donruss (1981).

Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.

Condition report:

The cards are in ungraded, raw condition. Centering across the collection is mixed; one copy of the 1983 Topps card is moderately off-center toward the top-left, and the 1981 Donruss card is notably off-center toward the top and left. Corners are generally sharp across the lot, with some minor softening visible on the tips of the 1982 Topps checklist number 531. Edges appear clean and straight. No major surface flaws or creases are evident from visual inspection.
