BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! Two Military Collectibles: WWII US Army 45th Infantry Division M1 Helmet Liner and Corgi B-29 Superfortress Die-Cast Model

This lot consists of two mid-20th-century US military-themed items: a WWII-era helmet liner and a modern collectible model aircraft. The first item is a US Army M1 helmet liner of compressed fiber construction with an olive drab exterior finish. It features the Thunderbird insignia of the 45th Infantry Division applied as decals on both lateral sides. The interior features an olive drab shade no. 3 (khaki) cloth webbing suspension system, a leather sweatband, and a nape strap. A modern, non-original typed label reading 45th Infantry Div. is adhered to the inner rim. A small yellow numeral 42 is hand-marked on the webbing near the nape strap area. The second item is a Corgi Classics Limited die-cast scale model aircraft from The Aviation Archive – Military series, product number 48903. The 1:144 scale set depicts a Boeing B-29 Superfortress with the Bell X-1 rocket plane, commemorating the first supersonic flight in 1947. The original packaging includes technical specifications and historical data. The box bottom is marked 2000 Corgi Classics Limited, Great Britain, and Made in China.

Condition report:

The helmet liner shows significant age and structural wear, including a prominent vertical crack in the fiber shell extending from the rim. The exterior paint and decals exhibit scuffs, surface wear, and edge chipping. The interior leather sweatband is heavily aged, darkened, and exhibits significant cracking and deterioration. The cloth webbing appears intact with minor soiling. The Corgi model set is in its original packaging and appears unused. The box shows light shelf wear, including minor creasing and softened corners.
