This lot consists of a complete consecutive run of twelve issues of Playboy magazine for the 1971 calendar year. Published by HMH Publishing Co., Inc., these vintage periodicals feature offset lithography on mixed paper stocks. The set includes all monthly issues from January through December. Featured cover art and content include the January Holiday Anniversary Issue with rabbit mascot; the February issue with jewelry-adorned torso; the March issue with lollipop; the April film-strip motif; the May issue with latex bodysuit and diving mask; the June puzzle-graphic face; the July swimsuit issue; the August bicycle issue; the September stylized eyes cover; the October bunny-chair issue; the November quilt cover; and the December Gala Christmas Issue. Condition report:
The collection shows wear consistent with age and handling. Several issues, including January, March, and October, exhibit moderate to heavy surface scuffing and color-break creasing. The September issue has significant staining on the lower portion of the cover. Spines show visible wear with some splitting and chipping, particularly on the February and May issues. General shelf wear and minor edge tears are present throughout. Interiors have not been inspected.
