BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! Collection of Eight Chicago Cubs Baseball Photographs and Memorabilia Including Seven Autographed Items

This lot features an assortment of eight pieces of Chicago Cubs baseball memorabilia, including seven autographed items and one unsigned historical photograph. The collection is anchored by several National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees. Included is an 8×10 color action photograph of Ron Santo, hand-signed in blue felt-tip marker. A second 8×10 color photograph features pitcher Fergie Jenkins, signed in black felt-tip marker with the inscription #31 and featuring a Major League Baseball authentication hologram. Outfielder Andre Dawson is represented by an 8×10 color action photograph signed in blue felt-tip marker, which includes a Nasser Limousine promotional sticker and a Pinstripes Foundation hologram. The collection also contains a commemorative Billy Williams Hall of Fame Induction Day sheet dated July 26, 1987, hand-signed in blue ink and listing his career playing record. Further autographed items include an 8×10 color photo of Bill Buckner signed in blue ink, an 8×10 color photo of 1989 Rookie of the Year Jerome Walton signed in blue ink with the inscription 89 R.O.Y., and an oversized Mark Prior commemorative card signed in black ink. The final piece is an unsigned 8×10 black and white photograph depicting Rick Monday during the 1976 flag rescue incident at Dodger Stadium, showing the 370 foot marker on the outfield wall.

Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.

Condition report:

The collection appears to be in good overall condition. The ink signatures are bold, legible, and well-preserved. The photographs and the Billy Williams commemorative sheet show minor signs of handling and light edge wear consistent with age. No significant tears, heavy creasing, or fading to the images were observed during inspection.
