A collection of vintage publications including several monthly issues of Playboy magazine and softcover cartoon compilation books published by HMH Publishing Co., Inc. and Playboy Press. The magazines consist of issues from late 1969: September (featuring a model in a Student Power t-shirt), October (depicting a model with a telephone), November (an abstract blue cover with a skier), and December (Gala Christmas Issue). The two softcover volumes included are The Playboy Cartoon Album 4, which contains more than 350 cartoons, and Playboy’s John Dempsey, featuring 290 cartoons including his nudist-camp series. The publications are illustrated throughout with color photography and comic art in both color and black and white.
Condition report:
The items show signs of wear consistent with age and handling. Condition points include edge rubbing, corner creasing, and light surface soiling to the covers. Several magazine covers have the name HOOD handwritten in black marker in the upper margin. Spines exhibit mild shelf wear and minor abrasions. Internal pages appear generally clean with expected age-related toning.
