This lot consists of a signed commemorative Rawlings Adirondack baseball bat honoring Gary Sheffield’s 1992 National League Batting Title season with the San Diego Padres. The bat is constructed of natural finished wood and features a bold signature in blue ink on the barrel. Affixed to the barrel is a black metal commemorative plaque held by four brass-colored screws. The plaque is engraved with gold-toned text reading GARY SHEFFIELD, SAN DIEGO PADRES, 1992, N.L. BATTING CHAMPION, .330 AVG. 33 HR 100 RBI’s, and LIMITED EDITION 55 / 100. The bat is authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). It features a matching numbered oval JSA sticker on the knob and is accompanied by a JSA Basic Cert card, both bearing certification number J38714.
Condition report:
The bat is in good overall condition. The natural wood barrel and handle show no signs of structural damage. The commemorative metal plaque exhibits some light surface scratches and minor wear to the black finish. The blue ink signature is bold, well-defined, and highly legible.
