Description
BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Major League Baseball World Series, Hall of Fame Programs, and Minor League Ephemera
This lot consists of a collection of professional baseball programs, yearbooks, and related ephemera. Included are four National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum yearbooks from Cooperstown, NY, for the years 2003 (featuring Gary Carter and Eddie Murray), 2004 (Paul Molitor and Dennis Eckersley), 2005 (Ryne Sandberg and Wade Boggs), and 2006 (Negro League collage). The collection features several Major League Baseball World Series official souvenir programs for the years 1996, 2001, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010, including multiple copies for the 1996 and 2010 seasons. Minor league materials include a 1999 official program and 2006 yearbook for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons, and a 2013 inaugural season program for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Specialty items include a 1994 souvenir program for the Colorado Silver Bullets all-female team and a promotional flyer for a Heroes of Baseball Weekend event. The lot also contains individual statistics sheets and notes from 1999 for the Scranton-WB Red Barons and opposing teams. Several stat sheets bear signatures, including those attributed to Ricky Ledee and Joel Bennett. All signatures are unauthenticated and are being sold as-is.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.
Condition report:
Items are in generally good to very good condition, showing typical shelf wear consistent with age and handling. This includes minor corner blunting, light surface scuffing on some covers, and small creases. Ephemera and individual stat sheets show some handling wear and original fold lines.
