This lot features a Rawlings Official Major League Baseball autographed on the sweet spot in blue ink. The signature is attributed to Brian Serven. The baseball is constructed of white leather with red stitching and bears the standard manufacturer and league markings. It is housed in a clear acrylic display cube with a black plastic base. The base features a red Rawlings Est. 1887 logo and the printed text Official Game Ball Of MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL. The rear of the display case is marked with an MLB Authentic Collection holographic sticker. No third-party certificates of authenticity or authentication stickers are visible on the item.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). Condition report:
The baseball is in excellent condition with a clean, white surface and no visible signs of scuffing, toning, or discoloration. The signature is bold and clearly defined. The acrylic display case shows minor surface wear consistent with age and handling.
