This lot features a complete factory set of 1991-92 Upper Deck Inaugural Edition NBA basketball cards, marking Upper Deck’s debut season producing professional basketball cards. The set is housed in its original cherry-finished wooden commemorative storage box and is accompanied by its original outer cardboard shipping carton. The complete base set consists of 500 cards and features key rookie cards including Larry Johnson and Dikembe Mutombo, as well as multiple cards of Hall of Famer Michael Jordan. Also included in this collection are three specialty hologram insert cards featuring Michael Jordan Scoring Leader, Michael Jordan MVP, and Derrick Coleman Rookie of the Year. The lid of the wooden box is laser-etched with the Upper Deck diamond logo, the NBA logo, and the text 1991-92 Inaugural Edition NBA Basketball Cards. The front of the box features a gold and silver foil seal reading Limited Edition NBA Commemorative Collection. The underside of the wooden box is finished with an adhesive UPC barcode sticker showing 0 53334 03202 5 and an official NBA holographic security sticker with serial number 005109849. The corrugated cardboard outer shipping box is printed with Upper Deck and NBA logos, UPC code 03202, and features handwritten identification in black marker on one side panel.
Condition report:
The wooden box is in excellent overall condition with a clean finish and intact hinges. The foil seal on the front of the wooden box is broken, allowing access to the cards. The outer cardboard shipping box shows typical wear, minor scuffs, light staining, and handwritten ink marking consistent with age and storage. The cards shown appear to be in Near Mint to Mint condition, exhibiting sharp corners, clean borders, and glossy surfaces. Centering on the Michael Jordan base card appears slightly shifted to the left border, which is typical for this printing. The cards are ungraded and sold in raw condition.
