This lot features a collection of eight large-format, single-sided color comic strip proof or reprint sheets of the classic Sunday newspaper comic strip Little Annie Rooney. The strips are written by Brandon Walsh and illustrated by Nicholas Afonsky, with his signature N. Afonsky visible within the plates. Published by King Features Syndicate, Inc., these sheets depict various mid-1930s storylines with full-color printing on heavy white paper stock. Visible publication and copyright dates within the plates include July 19, 1936, September 20, 1936, April 11, 1935, and May 2, 1935, along with other adjacent Sunday dates from the same period. The sheets display bright inks and crisp registration, with blank reverse sides.
Condition report:
Overall condition is excellent to near mint. The heavy white paper stock remains clean and bright with strong color preservation and registration. Minimal handling wear is present, restricted to minor thumb creases and light corner rippling along the wide outer white margins, which is typical for large-format paper ephemera of this type. There are no major tears, staining, writing, or corner losses.
