A collection of nine vintage Marvel comic books featuring the X-Men, comprising issues from the main The Uncanny X-Men title and various reprint series from the late 1970s and early 1980s. The lot includes The Uncanny X-Men issue 148, dated August 1981, featuring Dazzler and Spider-Woman with cover art by Dave Cockrum. Also included is The Uncanny X-Men issue 151 from November 1981, titled The Day Kitty Pryde Leaves the X-Men, also featuring a Dave Cockrum cover. The collection contains X-Men issue 67 from December 1975, which is a reprint of X-Men issue 12 featuring the first appearance of the Juggernaut. The remainder of the lot consists of issues from the Amazing Adventures Featuring the Original X-Men series, which reprinted the team’s earliest adventures. These include issue 1 (December 1979, reprinting X-Men 1), issue 2 (January 1980, reprinting X-Men 2), issue 7 (June 1980, reprinting X-Men 4 with the first appearance of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants), issue 8 (July 1980, reprinting X-Men 5), issue 9 (August 1980, reprinting X-Men 6), and issue 10 (September 1980, reprinting X-Men 7). Issue 10 features a promotional contest banner on the top of the cover. All comics are published by Marvel Comics Group in the United States.
Condition report:
The comic books in this lot are in raw, unslabbed condition, generally presenting in Good to Very Fine condition. Observable defects across the collection include varying degrees of spine stress marks, some of which are color-breaking. Minor corner blunting and light edge wear are present on most issues. Issue 151 shows visible color-breaking spine stress. Issue 8 from the Amazing Adventures series has a significant crease at the bottom right corner. Issue 10 shows moderate spine wear and small creases along the spine. No covers appear to be detached based on visual inspection.
