This lot features a natural finish wood baseball bat manufactured by Adirondack. The center brand of the bat is stamped with text that reads: REG. U.S. PAT. OFF., McLAUGHLIN-MILLARD, INC., Northern White Ash, ADIRONDACK, and DOLGEVILLE 302 NEW YORK. To the side of the center brand is the script text Whip Action Flexible. The barrel of the bat is stamped with the manufacturer name ADIRONDACK, a script facsimile signature of Willie Mays, and the text PERSONAL MODEL. A hand-signed signature in blue ink is located on the barrel above the stamped Adirondack name. The signature is attributed to Hall of Fame center fielder Willie Mays. This item is accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from Beckett Authentication Services (BAS), dated March 15, 2022, with certification number AB62462. A matching tamper-evident Beckett hologram with a QR code is affixed to the barrel of the bat.
Condition report:
The bat is in excellent condition. The natural wood finish is clean and well-preserved. The hand-signed signature is bold and legible with no visible fading. There are no significant cracks, chips, or signs of use on the bat.
