An assortment of autographed football memorabilia consisting of photographs, a signed program, and related authentication documentation. The collection features several signatures from Pro Football Hall of Fame members. The lot includes signed 8×10 inch photographs of Alex Karras (personalized To Aimee), Andy Robustelli (Hall of Fame enshrinee photo), Bill Willis (inscribed HOF 77), Bill Bullet Bill Dudley, Gino Marchetti, John Henry Johnson, Roosevelt Rosie Brown, Danny Wuerffel, and Abner Haynes. An autographed photograph of Ace Parker includes the inscription H.O.F. 2 along with a second signature and the sentiment Best wishes & good luck. The collection also features a large-format signed portrait of Charles Woodson and a 2008 Indianapolis Colts team photo signed and personalized by Rod Perry To Zachary.
Included ephemera consists of a program for the Second Annual Lou Michael’s Open Benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation dated May 20, 1994, signed and personalized To Nick by Lou Michaels. Formal documentation includes a National Sports Distributors (NSD) Letter of Authenticity for the Danny Wuerffel autograph dated October 20, 2003, corresponding to hologram 134531, and a Thrill of Victory Certificate of Authenticity for the Ace Parker autograph. The lot is further accompanied by a newspaper clipping titled Ace Parker pioneer for two-sport stars and a handwritten note regarding NFL gambling suspensions from the 1960s. Several photographs bear official NFL or Players Inc. holographic stickers and dealer tags.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Condition report:
The items are in overall good to very good condition. Multiple items feature personalizations to specific individuals as noted in the description. The photographs exhibit minor handling wear consistent with age. Documentation and ephemera show light creasing and standard signs of handling.
