Description
BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Signed Sports and Celebrity Memorabilia Including Roger Clemens and Bo Jackson
This collection of memorabilia primarily focuses on professional baseball and entertainment figures. The group features an oversized commemorative card for New York Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens, marking his 300th career win on June 13, 2003, signed by the player in black marker. A color photograph of Darryl Strawberry in a New York Mets pinstripe jersey is signed in blue felt-tip marker and bears an Authentic Memorabilia hologram in the lower right corner. The collection includes a black and white portrait of multi-sport athlete Bo Jackson signed in black ink, which is accompanied by a typewritten fan response letter from Jackson’s management. Also present is a black and white photograph of Jackie and Rachel Robinson in front of the U.S. Capitol, signed by Rachel Robinson in black marker; this item is paired with a blank letterhead from The Jackie Robinson Foundation. A black and white promotional photograph of director and producer Garry Marshall is inscribed to a specific recipient and signed in black marker. The lot is completed by a 2003 Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons souvenir scorebook celebrating the team’s 15th season and 2002 championship, featuring multiple signatures on the cover including Ryan Howard and Marlon Byrd.
Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.
Condition report:
The items in this collection vary in condition. The Roger Clemens commemorative card shows minor wear to the edges and corners. The Darryl Strawberry photograph remains in good condition with bright colors and a clear signature. The Bo Jackson photograph and letter exhibit light handling wear and minor creasing. The Rachel Robinson photograph is well-preserved, though the accompanying Jackie Robinson Foundation letterhead shows significant toning and a prominent brown stain in the upper right corner. The Garry Marshall promotional photograph displays minor surface scuffing. The Red Barons scorebook shows shelf wear, handling marks on the covers, and slight corner wear consistent with age.
