A collection of United States philatelic multiples and patriotic ephemera. The lot features a full sheet of 50 US 1963 5-cent Civil War Centennial Gettysburg stamps (Scott #1181), perforated 11. The collection includes a US 1995 32-cent Civil War Classic Collection souvenir sheet of 20 (Scott #2975), bearing multiple circular date stamp cancellations from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, dated July 1, 1995. Also present are multiple mint blocks and strips of the US 1966 6-cent Franklin D. Roosevelt stamp (Scott #1284) from the Prominent Americans series, including marginalia with plate number 29211. Accompanying the stamps is an illuminated calligraphic print of the Pledge of Allegiance from the J.R. Rosen Studio of Boston, featuring ornate borders and polychrome patriotic motifs.
Condition report:
The 1963 Gettysburg sheet is in mint condition with original gum, showing minor separation at the marginal perforations. The 1995 Civil War sheet is used with clear circular date stamp event cancellations and shows no thinning or tears. The 6-cent Roosevelt multiples are mint never hinged with full original gum. The Pledge of Allegiance print exhibits a vertical center fold and minor handling wear at the edges.
