ITEM DESCRIPTION: Modern Katana with Maroon Scabbard
This modern Japanese-style katana features a single-edged curved steel blade with a machine-rendered wavy temper line and a textured silver-toned collar. The hilt is finished with black synthetic cord over white imitation ray skin and cast metal dragon fittings. The maroon lacquered scabbard is decorated with black dragon graphics and three vertical calligraphic characters reading 武士道.
Condition report:
The maroon lacquer on the scabbard shows numerous surface scuffs and scratches throughout the finish (photo 1, 3). The blade exhibits minor smudges and fingerprints (photo 6, 7). The synthetic hilt wrap is misaligned near the pommel, exposing the underlying wooden core (photo 2, 4). Minor handling marks and light oxidation are present on the metal fittings (photo 6).
