BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! A Collection of Twelve Autographed Detroit Tigers and Baseball Hall of Fame Memorabilia

A collection of twelve autographed memorabilia items primarily featuring members of the Detroit Tigers and several National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees. The collection consists of various photographic prints, an induction card, and an oversized card reproduction. Signatures from National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees include Charlie Gehringer on an 8×10 black-and-white photograph; Hal Newhouser on a 1992 Hall of Fame Induction Day card with a postal cancellation; George Kell on two 8×10 photographs (one color batting pose and one black-and-white fielding pose inscribed HOF 83); Jim Bunning on an 8×10 color photograph; and manager Dick Williams on an 8×10 color photograph wearing a Brooklyn Dodgers uniform. The collection also features Detroit Tigers players Denny McLain on two color 8×10 photographs, Virgil Trucks on a black-and-white 8×10 inscribed with 1952 no-hitter details, Dick Tracewski on a personalized oversized 1969 Topps card reproduction, Red Borom on a black-and-white 8×10 photograph, and Elden Auker on an autographed black-and-white card. Accompanying documentation includes Certificates of Authenticity from Baseball Nostalgia for the Dick Williams and Hal Newhouser items, a certificate from Names of Fame, Inc. for a Denny McLain photograph, a biographical sheet for Red Borom, and various handwritten notes on player history.

Provenance / Authentication Note: This item originates from a single-owner collection assembled by a dedicated sports fan (with a strong focus on Notre Dame and New York Yankees memorabilia). The collector actively pursued autographs over many years through in-person events, including games, autograph shows, and visits to National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum during player events, as well as through direct mail requests to athletes and celebrities. The collection included supporting material such as handwritten correspondence sent to athletes (in some cases with payment enclosed), along with photographs of the collector with various signers. A portion of this same collection was featured in our March 21st auction, where multiple items were authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA). In regards to any items with signature(s): While this specific item(s) may not be individually submitted for third-party authentication, it originates from the same collection and shows consistency with previously authenticated pieces. As with many large autograph collections, there may be a small number of facsimile or clubhouse-style signatures present, but for the most part we have seen AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES within the collection. Based on the overall provenance and our review, we maintain a strong level of confidence in the authenticity of most items. Bidders are encouraged to review all photos carefully and bid according to their own level of comfort. No additional authentication documentation is included unless visible within the lot photos. Please reach out with any questions.

Condition report:

The items are in good to excellent condition overall. Signatures are bold and legible, primarily in blue and black ink. Minor corner wear or light surface marks consistent with storage and handling may be visible on some photographs.
