Description
BID PER WHAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTO, NOT THE AI GENERATED TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS! Seth Thomas Eight-Day Ship Bell Clock and Nine Reproduction Pennsylvania Fishing License Buttons
This lot features a vintage Seth Thomas maritime wall-mounted clock and a collection of reproduction pinback buttons. The clock is housed in a heavy circular brass case with a rear mounting flange. The white dial features black Arabic numerals, a railroad-style minute track, and two winding ports. It is inscribed with SEVEN JEWELED EIGHT DAY SHIPS BELL in the upper center, a regulation scale marked S and F in the lower center, and MADE BY SETH THOMAS IN U.S.A. along the bottom outer edge. The movement is a seven-jewel, eight-day mechanical system with a ship’s bell strike.
The accompanying collection consists of nine reproduction Resident Citizen’s Fishing License buttons for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The set includes examples for the years 1936, 1939, 1945, 1947, 1952, 1955, 1956, 1957, and 1959. Each button is printed with the state name, year, and a unique serial number. Several buttons bear the explicit printed text Reproduction along the lower right margin. The buttons are presented on a white fibrous backing within a black display box.
Condition report:
The brass clock case displays a natural aged patina with visible oxidation and minor surface wear consistent with age and maritime use. The dial and crystal are intact. The clock is untested for operational status or timekeeping accuracy. The fishing license buttons are in excellent contemporary condition with no signs of rust or fading. The presentation box shows light external wear.
